I came to South Africa from Germany in 1981 with the intention of staying for about 2 years and then returning to Germany but Africa had other plans – it creeped into my heart and soul and 2 years have become 43 years.

After starting work at 2 different German Engineering firms in Johannesburg in secretarial positions, I moved into tourism in 1995 and never looked back.

My favourite hotel is La Residence in Franschhoek and my favourite place is in a safari vehicle looking for animals in the African bush – I just love elephants, kudu and black-backed jackals.
