Federal Airlines is expanding its fleet with new Pilatus PC-12 aircraft, which are expected to provide new levels of comfort and convenience for high-end travellers. The airline recently acquired its first Pilatus PC-12NG, a premium aircraft that will primarily be used on FedAir’s private charter network.
This eight-seater aircraft is perfectly suited to offer fast, pressurised service to small friend and family groups, high-end leisure clients, corporate travellers, and private individuals visiting South Africa’s private luxury safari lodges and various destinations across the country, due to its operational versatility and performance in regional conditions, the PC-12NG was ideal, not only for domestic flights but for travel across the African continent
FedAir is in the process of acquiring a fourth PC-12 by the end of the year, with plans to add two more by the end of 2025 to bring the PC12 fleet to six. The PC12s will be used in conjunction with the airline’s Cessna Grand Caravans and Beechcraft 1900s on a daily shuttle network that connects Johannesburg and Kruger Mpumalanga with lodges and camps in Kruger, Sabi Sands, Timbavati, Thornybush, Madikwe, Marakele, and Phinda.
