Desert & Delta Safaris unveiled the newly refurbished luxury retreat, Nxamaseri Island Lodge, on May 1.

The revamped lodge, situated on the banks of the Nxamaseri Channel in the Okavango Panhandle, was closed on November 24 last year for significant upgrades, including the addition of a spacious main area and the first wellness spa in the Desert & Delta portfolio.

Other enhancements include the relocation of the swimming pool to the edge of the Nxamaseri Channel.

Food menus also see a transformation, focusing on dishes that feature healthy juices and freshly sourced herbs and vegetables from the camp garden.

The incorporation of local culture is a key theme in the new developments. Activities include engaging in the traditional art of basket weaving, excursions to Tsodilo Hills, fishing, mokoro rides, guided walks and bird-watching, with the lodge providing individually crafted schedules for guests.

They also included a range of images, books, and paintings into the new camp and incorporate ingredients still used in the ancient San culture as part of their wellness treatments in the spa.
